He is an inspired student and a huge help for the entertainment production program. He is even good at math! CTE 2nd Trimester Student of the Tri 2020-2021 Bradley Haskins I would like to nominate Bradley Haskins for CTE student of the trimester. Brad has had a challenging year, like the rest of us but the reason I am nominating him is because of his commitment and resilience. In addition to being isolated, Brad has suffered illness and injury himself and in his family and friend circle. He continued to pick himself up every day and do his best to cope and juggle his responsibilities. He has come through the last year stronger and still motivated to maintain his grades and achieve his personal and academic goals. CTE 2nd Trimester Student of the Tri 2020-2021 Roman Watkins Second Trimester student candidate Roman Watkins is my clear choice. We all struggled second trimester, students, teachers and admin alike. Roman was no different. Roman had planned to move to Running Start and planned that with his counselor. Things went sideways and that fell through. Unfortunately, Roman was removed from my and other classes. He knew Running Start was not happening so he continued to attend class zooms and turn in required course homework. I sent emails to the counselor but they were not responded to. Roman was then told by his parents he was moving out of district and filled parents filed that paperwork, but that fell through! Unfortunately he had been removed from my class and there was no way to credit his attendance or assignments. More emails to counseling went unanswered. Finlay a panic call to Mr. Caffey (not his counselor) got some action started. He was re-instated to Mr. Fullington's and my classes. Roman Watkins could have thrown up his hands in disgust and walked away from our classes. This student understands what a sense of duty, accountability and perseverance means. These are cornerstone traits for employ-ability and thus foundational to CTE instruction regardless of the specific course. His maturity and sheer dogged determination to not only attend but excel at his classes, inspire of our failings, earns him a place of high regard. I feel he deserves recognition. Roman Watkins went above and beyond in every respect. I nominate him for CTE student of the trimester.
