Alongside the time and talent of the students, the success of the SHS Band Program hinges upon the involvement of parents, alumni and community volunteers in many capacities, including that of chaperones, assistants to the director, welders, seamstresses, carpenters, drivers, cooks, and many others. One very specific way adults support the band is through the Shelton Band Booster program. It is certainly not necessary to participate in the Boosters to volunteer with the Band Program. The purpose of the Boosters is to support the Music, with financial support, through various fundraising activities throughout the year, to help meet the needs of the Programs that are not covered in the annual school budget.
